Im looking for a music making software (hip hop preferred) thats not expensive and is compatible with a laptop.Some of the softwares (reason & fruity loops) are expensive and they need too much space so hence cant be used on a laptop.This software must have record facility as well.Cheers!!

For Mac you can use GarageBand which is the best in its class.

For Windows you can use Audacity or Goldwave – both FREE.

    Audacity. Try it out. It is Open source and free. and any laptop can be installed on your laptop on Windows. Just make sure you upgrade your hard-drive if it is small. Install the maximum RAM on your laptop. Ram will really help improve your audio experience with the big and heavy programs.
