I have a design concept for a tattoo…?

I have been looking for a neck/ shoulder tattoo design for a while now that wasn’t just a bunch of swirls or butterflies or whatever. I wanted something unique and different but also meaningful since I’m not about to get something generic in a sort of visible place. So I finally came upon the perfect image the other day! The catch, I’m not sure if this concept could be made into a "tattoo able" design without sketching it out myself, which I could try. And I know I could just go to the tattooist and have them sketch it out for me, but I’m 18 and don’t exactly have the extra cash for that kind of consultation in addition to the Tattoo itself. This will be my second tattoo, so spare me the spiel of tattoo regrets and thinking before I actually get it inked, I’m not doing this on a whim and I would only get this if it truly meant something.

You want a custom tattoo but don’t want to pay for a custom tattoo. That tattoo has a lot of detail so it is not going to be cheap.

You say want a tattoo that is meaningful to you then select a picture of someone else’s tattoo and say that is what you want.

I’m thinking about getting my second tattoo, which is going to be the first opening lines from a Dylan Thomas poem: Do not go gentle into that good night.
I’m planning to take Do Not Go Gentle and have it running along the back of my neck, sort of where my neck meets my spine. But I’m also considering putting a small image above the quote or maybe running through it/behind it but I’m not quite sure what to do that would relate to this quote. Any suggestions?

I’m not super artistic, but the first thing that comes to my mind is a series of stars…or something that looks like stars or …hmm.. the milky way.

Something that represents the ‘night’…. I’m actually a fan of more ‘interperative’ tattoos when it comes to images…so you could work with the artist on some image that looks like/reminds you of a star but isn’t exactly the typical 5 pointed star like in this image.

Or you could get some version of a constillation that you like or represents something to you.

Does wrist and neck tattoos hurt?

I’m going to be turning 17 in December and I am wanting my first tattoo either on my neck or my inner wrist but notbsure witch will hurt the most. I do not have a good tolerance with pain but I do okay.

Yes tattoos can give you some pain no matter where you put it.
If you want a tattoo on your neck think about putting it on the back of you neck so it’s not too visible. That place can be sensitive as you go closer to the spine.
The wrist can be pain full if it’s going over the bones in the wrist. I haven’t had a neck tattoo done yet but from what I have heard I think the neck can be pain full. If you really want it on one location then just man up and do it. Try not to flinch or tense up as they are Tattooing you and have some thing to eat before you go, you can even even bring some music or a friend to help you relax.
